NEWS: Sony Still Enthusiastic For DriveClub

Sony has released a statement regarding progress of the PS4-exclusive racing title.

Despite its original plan to be released during the PS4 launch last year, DriveClub is still heavily in development according to a new statement issued by Sony.

A Sony spokesperson spoke with Computer and Video Games, saying:

"The announced studio changes across WWS have not affected the development of DriveClub or the DriveClub team, which has always had great direction and continues to do so."

"We have full confidence that the game will deliver on its PS4 promise to be the first truly socially connected racing title and we are very pleased and excited by the calibre of work from Evolution Studios."

"The progress being made on the game is spectacular, so we're looking forward to sharing an update on development, release date and videos of the game in action in the weeks to come. We thank you for your patience and assure you, it will be worth the wait."

Unfortunately, no specific date has been set for the game's release, however an official release date is to be confirmed in the following weeks to come.

NEWS: The Last of Us Coming to PS4

Perhaps Naughty Dog's most celebrated game is heading for a PS4 release.

PlayStation spokesperson Sercan Sulan has stated there will be an eventual PS4 release of the highly acclaimed post-apocalyptic game; The Last of Us.

The news was brought to attention through Multiplayer during a video presentation, however Sulan is Turkish - thankfully IGN managed to translate key points:

"There is no information about a new The Last of Us game but I can share this knowledge; as of this summer, The Last of Us will be on the PS4. Both on PSN and physically."

"The PS4 version will also include the DLC so you will be able to play 'Left Behind' as well."

Since its release, The Last of Us has played host to a range of nominations and awards - more recently it was awarded best action & adventure as well as best overall game at the BAFTA Games Awards 2014.

Bart Suichies has posted details on official Killzone website regarding a week's worth online gaming at no extra charge at all. The decision was made to coincide with the release of one of two free to download maps - Suichies said:

NEWS: 100 PS4 Games Coming This Year

A promised total of 100 titles are to make their way to PS4 by the end of 2014.

The official Twitter of PlayStation has confirmed a substantial amount of games are promised for 2014 - however, no titles were mentioned specifically but we can assume both indie and triple A content is included in that list.

This comes from the Media Summit, where the tweet simply read:

"Here's a fun fact: More than 100 PS4 games are planned for release in 2014. Stay tuned for more updates from today's media summit."

With the promise of so many games, this could boost sales of the PS4, which originally launched in November 2013 with exclusives such as Killzone Shadow Fall and Knack.

NEWS: Clan Support Coming To Killzone Shadow Fall

The game's latest patch will incorporate a clan system and will only be the first phase, hinting at further updates.

The official Killzone website has detailed what's in store for players through the upcoming patch 1.09, and it doesn't disappoint.

Victor Zuylen of Guerrilla Games said:

"We truly appreciate the passion you've demonstrated in helping Killzone Shadow Fall become the best it can be, and we apologize for the time it's taking to implement our full vision for the clan system. To make the wait more bearable, we've decided to roll out clan features in multiple phases."

Patch 1.09 will include the first phase, which is to be released early February - "this phase introduces clan system features to both the game and the website. The patch will add support for displaying clan tags alongside player names in the game, while the website will receive basic clan management functionality - including the ability to create clans, add/remove members, and promote members to clan officers."

Until then, be sure to download the free maps given to players just last week - more info HERE.

NEWS: Killzone Shadow Fall - Free Maps Revealed

Two maps have been unveiled today, which will be released completely free of charge.

Poria Torkan, Producer over at Guerrilla games has shared details regarding the upcoming maps, which will be completely free to download - the news came directly from the official US PlayStation blog.

First off, we have 'The Cruiser' (pictured above), described as "a close-to-mid-range combat map set in the confines of a decommissioned ISA cruiser. Consisting of tight, claustrophobic corridors and interconnected compartments, they to dominating this map is identifying and controlling its choke points."

Secondly, there's 'The Hangar' (pictured below), described as "a wide-open map situated in the hanger bay of one of Helghan's humongous mining spires. In addition to the main area, which offers long lines of sight suitable for sniping, the map contains alternative routes that will need to be secured for full control."

Torkan also goes on to confirm the team are "working on the first DLC expansion for Killzone Shadow Fall.", with more details emerging in the near future.

PREVIEW: Deep Down - Enemy Details & New Screenshots

A batch of new screenshots has revealed enemies players can expect in the upcoming PS4-exclusive RPG.

Posted online today are a total of three new screenshots showing off impressive visuals as well as two types of enemies players will encounter in Capcom's free-to-play online RPG - check them out below.

The Jackie - professional treasure chest lookalike

Pictured above, the Jackie boasts an ability to deal damage despite the players armour - even with the best equipment in the game, expect to take a considerable amount of damage. These particular enemies disguise themselves as treasure chests, so opening what looks to be an innocent chest could lead to a nasty battle.

They can move very quickly and will attack players using its many incredibly sharped teeth - also note in the picture we can see what looks to be a Great Sword, one of the many weapon types the game has to offer.

The Pooriiz - the not so cute Caterpillars

Typically stuck to the ceilings, these Caterpillar looking creatures are known as Pooriiz and will attack in swarms, and whilst not the most difficult enemy in the game, they can become deadly when their numbers continue to grow - getting surrounded could get messy.

Teleporting to the past... as you do.

The final screenshot shows the player successfully being brought back to the past - something we'll be doing a lot of as all of the game's dungeons can be explored through these devices.

Deep Down will be released in 2014 with no specific date mentioned - however it has only been confirmed for a Japanese release currently, but its safe to assume a western release will eventually take place.

NEWS: Rayman Legends - PS4/Xbox One Trailer Released

Legendary rapper Snoop Dogg (Snoop Lion?) shows off Ubisoft's Rayman Legends.

Skipping past Snoop's nonsense, you'll eventually get to the actual gameplay - the game was originally released September of this year, and was supposed to be Wii U exclusive, but has made its way to Windows, PS3, and Xbox 360.

The trailer showcases the game's bright and colourful levels along with various enemies players can expect to encounter. Legends won't be a straight-forward port - it will contain updated graphics and a reduce in load times, as well as exclusive features for each version of the game, whether it be on Xbox One or PS4.

Players will be able to utilize the DualShock 4's touch pad to modify their playing style, whilst the Xbox One will be given 10 extra challenges to complete. Check out the trailer below.

NEWS: Latest Battlefield 4 Update Will Fix Various Problems

The latest patch for the PlayStation 4 version of the game should take care of problems players have been experiencing of late.

A 600MB update has been released for Battlefield 4 on the PS4 - the announcement came from the Battlelog forum today.

Its purpose is to fix certain client crashes, audio drop outs, among other various issues. You may need to restart the game for the update to start.

Check out a detailed list of the fixes below.

  • General stability fixes that should remove a large amount of the client crashes we are currently seeing on the PS4.
  • Fixed the audio drop outs that could occur when playing on large maps. Typical maps affected was Golmud Railway in Conquest with 64 players. Ambient sound would sometimes cut out, like foley sounds from players running, vehicle engine sounds, vehicle movement sounds, and map ambient sounds.
  • Removed the blur effect on soldiers that appeared when Commanders were using EMP attacks.
  • Further reduced the probability of getting a corrupt save file by doing miscellaneous changes to the save file system. These include removing the save file saving again when quitting multiplayer.
  • Fixed multiple crashes that could occur when bringing up the in-game Battlelog during round transition.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when using the BattleScreen.
  • Fixed a random crash related to destroying vehicles.
  • Fixed minor destruction issues in the terrain.

NEWS: Zen Pinball 2 Coming To PS4

The popular pinball sequel will be making its way to PS4 bringing a brand-new table along with it.

Sony have released a debut trailer showcasing the various tables players can expect in the PS4 version - whilst they're all available on the PS3, PSVita, and Wii U versions already, a new table based on Marvel's very own Doctor Strange will be launched alongside the PS4 release, and will be available to download on all versions of the game.

The game itself will be free to download but will only include the table 'Sorcerer's Lair', extra content will cost $2.99/€2.99 for each table.

In the trailer, we see various tables, each with their own distinguishable look - 'Epic Quest', 'Earth Defense', and 'Paranormal', which seem entertaining enough but the real selling point are the tables based on popular existing franchises. These include Star Wars, Marvel, and Plants Vs. Zombies.

Users who have already got content on the PS3 or PSVita version of the game can download everything again on the PS4 if they wish at no extra cost. Zen Pinball 2 will be available December 17 in the US and December 18 throughout Europe.

NEWS: PS4's Lifecycle Could Be Shorter Than PS3

Various hints have suggested the overall lifecycle of the newly released PS4 could very well be shorter than the PS3.

UK Sony boss Fergal Gara spoke with Tech Radar in regards to the PS4's lifespan throughout certain markets and their respective territories. The thirst for new technology will be the primary reason according to Gara, saying:

"It's probably a sign of the times and how much has changed in seven years, but I think the willingness and the appetite to pick up new technology fast has probably changed quite a bit."

Because the PS4 has just launched, it is difficult to accurately predict its future, however Gara went on to say:

"We're going to have a much better feel for it once we're a good few months in and we can see how the dynamics are emerging."

Are you standing in the queues in the cold for your PS4 tonight? Leave your experiences in the comments below.

NEWS: Call of Duty Ghosts - PS4 Patch Released

Problems experienced on the PS4 version of Ghosts will hopefully be fixed with the newly released patch.

Since it's launch, people have been reporting numerous problems in Call of Duty Ghosts, such as spawn-killing exploits in the game's multiplayer, as well as performance issues.

A patch released today should fix any of the mentioned problems, other updates include a XP reward increase in Operations as well as numerous weapon challenges.

Leaderboards for the Search & Destroy gametype have now been implemented along with increased XP, and collision bugs which promote cheating are now fixed.

NEWS: Amazon UK - PS4 and Xbox One Pre-Orders May Not Arrive Until After Christmas

The Amazon UK retailer has said not all PS4 and Xbox One pre-orders will be delivered in time for Christmas.

Those who have pre-ordered either an Xbox One or PS4 console (or both) from mid-November can expect delays in their orders, and could very well not play the new consoles until after Christmas. The PS4 section of the website lists a number of pre-order conditions and the chances of the console getting to you:

● Customers who pre-ordered this console up to and including August 6 have been given an option to get a PS4 for release day.

● Customers who pre-ordered this console from August 7 up to and including November 13 will receive their consoles before Christmas.

● Customers who pre-order this console from November 14 will receive their consoles after Christmas.

● Customers who cancel existing pre-orders and place a new order will not get their console for release day.

The same applies for the Xbox One practically, although it states pre-orders from November 13 can be expected after Christmas, although this isn't set in stone - many pre-orders could still make it on launch day. The Xbox One section reads similar conditions as the PS4:

● Customers who pre-ordered this console up to and including August 6 have been given an option to get a PS4 for release day.

● Customers who pre-ordered this console from August 7 up to and including November 13 will receive their consoles before Christmas.

● Customers who pre-order this console from November 14 will receive their consoles after Christmas.

● Customers who cancel existing pre-orders and place a new order will not get their console for release day.

NEWS: Naughty Dog Reveals Uncharted On PS4

Although the new video doesn't say Uncharted 4, Naughty Dog have definitely teased an Uncharted game coming to PS4.

During the PS4 launch event over at Spike TV, a new teaser trailer was shown revealing that the Uncharted franchise will be making its way to Sony's newly released PS4 console. As expected, the game will stay exclusive to PlayStation.

The short video shows a map (which looks very Uncharted-esque), along with a voice-over from a yet to be announced character saying the following:

"Some chains can never be broken. I lost 15 years buried alive - erased - you left me rotting in that hell hole and never looked back. But you can't out run the past and when it catches up, when all your lies collapse around you - I'll be there sifting through the wreckage. You owe me."

Various locations on the map include Cape of Good Hope, St. Mary, and the Madagascar, as well as many others, already showing the game is likely to be set in very illustrative environments, much like previous games in the series. Check out the video below - can you think who the voice is? Comment with your opinions.

NEWS: Shuhei Yoshida Dissapointed With Low PS4 Reviews

Recent PS4 game review scores haven't been as high as Sony boss Shuehi Yoshida would have liked.

Three PS4 launch games Knack, Killzone Shadow Fall, and Res0gun have all received their metascores which are 'dissapointing' according to Sony Computer Entertainment Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida. See the scores below.

Knack - 59
Killzone Shadow Fall - 75
Res0gun - 82

When asked about the recent scores over at Games Industry Biz, Yoshida replied:

"It's disappointing to see some of the low scores. I haven't spent enough time reading reviews, but I would characterize them as mixed."

Yoshida then goes on to explain why the games could have been given bad reviews:

"With this launch there are lots of games coming out, so the media must be very busy going through the games quickly."

"So we have to look at how much time they spend on what aspect of the games and how that may be contributing to some of the lower scores. It's disappointing but I don't think it's worrisome for the launch of the system."

Clearly, Yoshida isn't too phased with the low scores - do they put you off buying the PS4 or these particular games? Comment below.

NEWS: Possible Street Fighter Game Coming to PS4

A strange advertisement promoting 'Hadouken Cabs' could well be a teaser for a new Street Fighter game.

Sony have released a short video showing a parody of fan favourite Ryu and his ability to pick up possible customers in under 99 seconds, what with his 25 years experience in the field.

In true Sony style, the video contains little messages that indicate a possible Street Fighter related announcement, using the hashtag '4ThePlayers', sound effects and music from the series, and brief imagery of the DualShock 4 controller along with the triangle, square, circle, and X formation.

Check out the video below - could it be Street Fighter V? A remake of the older games? Leave your thoughts in the comments.
