NEWS: Rocksteady Discuss Arkham Knight's Villain Redesigns

Whilst memorable villains are taking part in Arkham Knight, they might look a little different.

In a feature with Game Informer, Arkham Knight's Art Director David Hego, has discussed redesigns of three very well-known villains within the Batman universe, including Penguin, Two Face, and The Riddler.

When speaking on the Penguin, Hego said:

"We took the coat off, and the concept of Penguin was more of a dirty dude. Obviously his shirt is rolled up and sweaty, and he food stains on it. But still, he's really powerful. He's got a golden chain, as well. We had to be a bit crazy with this character, and working with his design. And we shaved his head. He's proper filthy, you know. It makes you want to punch him even more."

It seems not much was altered with the appearance of Two Face besides giving him a new next-gen sheen:

"We just rolled up his sleeves and made him look really next-gen. We took some references of really filthy, burnt flesh - which is what we do most of the time, which is quite cool - and tried to make him look as badass as we could."

Finally, Hego speaks on the infamous Riddler, who has a habbit of constantly changing appearance:

"If you had to work overtime, for example, you would start the night with your jumper on and everything, and as the time went by you'd probably take your jumper off, open your shirt, take your tie off, have a coffee. The Riddler is a character who has a cool framework, and we didn't want to change it too much - we like his shirts with question marks and silly glasses and greasy hair."

Batman: Arkham Knight is to hit shelves October 14 on Xbox One, PS4, and Windows.

NEWS: DLC Cancelled For Wii U Verson of Arkham Origins

Players expecting more content will be disappointed as Nintendo has pulled the DLC from development.

The news originally came from a message sent to those who purchased season passes for the Wii U release of Arkham Origins, which stated the reasoning behind the decision to stop development of DLC content.

GoNintendo posted the entire message, which can be seen below.

"Thanks so much for your support of Batman: Arkham Origins on Wii U.
We are contacting you today because you purchased the Batman: Arkham Origins Season Pass for Wii U. We hope you've been enjoying the content that has been delivered thus far. Based on demand for Downloadable Content on the system, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has made the decision to remove its offering of the upcoming new story campaign for Wii U.
As a result, we will be crediting the entire $19.99+tax cost of the Season Pass back to your Nintendo eShop account. You will still be able to enjoy the content already released thus far.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your support of the game.
Sincerely, Nintendo of America Inc."

There is no indication of the Xbox 360 or PS3 versions to be affected and since only Wii U players received the news, it can be safe to assume any DLC plans for other versions will still be developed.

PREVIEW: Batman Arkham Origins - TV Ad Trailer

A 53 second long video has been released, showing the Bruce Wayne to Batman transformation.

We all know Batman is really Bruce Wayne, and vice versa - if you don't, where have you been all this time? Warner Bros have released a short TV ad portraying Bruce as a child, in which he eventually grows into The Dark Knight persona.

A young Bruce Wayne looks happy for a few seconds, until the shooting of his father becomes apparent - now throughout the rest of the ad the expression on Wayne is that of anger and sadness, craving the vengeance he rightfully deserves.

Watch the ad below, it's definitely moving and really makes you feel for Batman.

NEWS: Batman Arkham Origins - Season Pass Details Surface

Details regarding the Batman Arkham Origins season pass have surfaced, and could save you a considerable amount of you cash if you're planning on playing all of the DLC content.

Warner Bros. announced that those with a season pass will have access to "an all-new story campaign", amongst other goodies.

The season pass will be available on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC, and will retail at a one off payment of £15.99 - if the DLC packs are bought individually, it will cost you £27.99. If you're serious about getting the 5 upcoming packs, I'd go with the season pass. I'm not a sales person, I swear.

Straight from Warner Bros. themselves, the pass will grant you access to the following:

  • Arkham Origins Initiation: Play as Bruce Wayne before he became Batman, and face his final test to prove himself worthy to his greatest teacher, Kirigi.
  • An all-new story campaign
  • Gotham by Gaslight Batman Skin and Brightest Day Batman Skin
  • New Millennium Skins Pack
  • Infinite Earths Skin Pack

The game is slated for a October 25 release.
