The first games to be released are Metroid Fusion, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, and Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3.

Currently, it appears the games will only be available through the Wii U but we shouldn't rule out plans for 3DS compatibility just yet.

The 2 million mark was reached much slower than its predecessor; the DS, which seemed to do much better during its lifespan compared to the 3DS, although this "is still an impressive figure."

NEWS: Luigi-Themed 2DS Becomes Highly Possible

1-UP for Luigi? After images were sent to Kotaku, the chances of a Luigi-themed 2DS bundle becomes very likely.

With the recently announced Luigi-themed 3DS XL, it wouldn't be too surprising to see a 2DS counterpart - especially since its the year of Luigi, marking 30 years since his first appearance in Mario Bros.

Someone sent in images revealing what the handheld will look like - a white and green coloured 2DS with a silhouette of Luigi himself on the back. Said images can be seen below.

Front of the box displays "The Year of Luigi" slogan as well as the actual 2DS.
Inside the package - the 2DS with the Luigi silhouette engraved on the back.

The 2DS turned on, showcasing various applications.
Back of the box, showing a description of the handheld, amongst other information.

Nintendo have not confirmed if this is true or not, but with images like these, it's difficult to not to believe.

NEWS: Pokemon X&Y - 4 Million Units Sold in 2 Days

Nintendo's latest Pokemon series has already sold almost 5 million units with its worldwide release.

Since it's release, the X & Y Pokemon games have already sold 4 million units, Nintendo revealed today, deeming it the fastest selling 3DS game of all time.

Of course, the numbers are nowhere near Pokemon Pearl & Diamond (currently at 17.6 units sold worldwide), but considering in just a weekend X & Y have sold such a ginourmous amounts of the game, it's safe to say that initial 4 million will constantly rise and make its way to the top.

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President said:

"The early response to Pokémon X and Pokémon Y not only reaffirms the ongoing passion of Pokémon fans, but also indicates that an entirely new generation of gamers is eager to experience the franchise for itself"

Will these be the last games in the long-running Pokemon series, or do you want Nintendo to keep on creating more and more? Comment below.

NEWS: Kirby - 3DS Debut

Nintendo fan-favourite Kirby makes his way to the 3DS for the first time.

One of most beloved Nintendo characters Kirby will be making his (its?) way to the Nintendo 3DS in 2014, according to the trailer released today from the official Nintendo UK channel.

No actual name has been given to the game, but I'm sure it will involve "Kirby" somewhere. Always a bit risky writing things like in case someone doesn't understand the sarcasm.

The trailer shows familiar gameplay we've grown to love over the years, whilst executing trademark moves on any enemy that get's in the way.

It actually reminds me a lot of Kirby's Adventure on the NES in terms of level design and mechanics, which is not a bad thing at all.

The only information shown regarding a release date is "Available in 2014" - hopefully a more precise date will be announced soon.
