NEWS: EU Nintendo eShop Update - March 11 2014

Highlights include a special Luigi-themed sale and the soon-to- be released Yoshi's New Island.

Nintendo has detailed this week's eShop for European users, including both new releases and numerous special offers. Luigi continues to put himself in the limelight, following last week's update which also included various games associated with the green plumber. NEWS: Super Smash Bros. 4 - Lucario Confirmed

Another character will be joining the fight in the next Super Smash game.

Series director Masahiro Sakurai has posted in the Miiverse today, revealing the latest fighter in the upcoming Super Smash game.

Lucario is considered one of the most risky characters in Brawl due to its ability to perform massive damage but only with critical health - it seems this will still be the case.

Sakurai said "The heroic Aura Pokemon, Lucario, joins the battle!! We've increased the influence of Aura this time, so a damaged Lucario is truly a force to be reckoned with."

NEWS: EU Nintendo eShop Update - December 23 2013

The final week of the year offers another batch of games on Nintendo's European eShop, including Pokemon Bank and NES classic; Super Mario Bros 3. 

Nintendo have updated the eShop, marking the last update of 2013 - and it doesn't disappoint. The long-awaited Pokemon Bank is included and will officially become available to download 27 December, whilst other classic titles such as Super Mario Bros. 3 and Mario Tennis are also up for grabs, among others. NEWS: Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen Music Collection Available On iTunes

Better late than never, the complete soundtracks have been released via iTunes.

Almost 10 years since their original releases, you can now buy the soundtrack to both Pokemon FireRed and Pokemon LeafGreen through the iTunes store for $20.99, translating to £12.81. Alternatively, you can buy individual songs for $1.69 (£1.03).

Titled Pokemon FireRed & Pokemon LeafGreen: Super Music Collectionm, the collection will feature a total of 90 tracks from composers Jun'ichi Masuda, Gō Inchinose and Morkazu Aoki. Check out the entire track listing below.

NEWS: Super Smash Bros. 4 - Mario Galaxy Stage Revealed

A Mario Galaxy stage has been announced, and will be accompanying the current roster of playable levels in the game.

Masahiro Sukarai, director of Super Smash Bros. 4 has released a 'pic of the day' over at the Miiverse website, showcasing an extremely colourful and vibrant playable stage based on the Mario Galaxy series. Players can expect gravity to play a role in the level:

"The pull of gravity emanates from the center of the planet. so this will require using brand-new tactics."

Sukarai posted another image showing fan-favourites Super Mario, Peach, Bowser, and Pikachu standing on a curved part of the stage - which isn't suprising considering the Galaxy franchise contains tons of levels based on a sphere design. Check it out below.

The game still has no release date, but can be expected 2014, and will release on both the Wii U and 3DS. Newcomer playable characters include Villager, Mega Man, Wii Fit Trainer, and Toon Link based on the GameCube game Wind Waker. Full list of can be viewed on the official site.

NEWS: Japan's Best Selling Games of 21st Century

Well-known Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu has released a list of the best selling games within the 21st century.

Look at his smug little face.

The list focuses on games released from Jan 1, 2001 - Sep 29, 2013, with Nintendo taking the main stage. New Super Mario Bros. on Nintendo DS takes first place, selling a massive 6,424,000 copies since it's release in 2006, with Pokemon Diamond / Pearl shortly behind with an amount of 5,827,000 copies sold since its 2006 release.

User 'Road' of the NeoGAF forums posted the entire list, also showing the top 3 by system, hardware sales, and the top games of the 20th century. For a quick look at the top 10, check out the list below.

NEWS: Pokemon X&Y - 4 Million Units Sold in 2 Days

Nintendo's latest Pokemon series has already sold almost 5 million units with its worldwide release.

Since it's release, the X & Y Pokemon games have already sold 4 million units, Nintendo revealed today, deeming it the fastest selling 3DS game of all time.

Of course, the numbers are nowhere near Pokemon Pearl & Diamond (currently at 17.6 units sold worldwide), but considering in just a weekend X & Y have sold such a ginourmous amounts of the game, it's safe to say that initial 4 million will constantly rise and make its way to the top.

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President said: 

"The early response to Pokémon X and Pokémon Y not only reaffirms the ongoing passion of Pokémon fans, but also indicates that an entirely new generation of gamers is eager to experience the franchise for itself"
